Our story begins twenty-one years ago with the creation of a small custom woodworking business.

MN SLABWOOD.COM is a product of that woodworking business now known as MN Woodcraft LLC, www.mnwoodcraft.com. Designing and building furniture and cabinets, our need became great for unique lumber. With the commercial lumber industry focusing on quantity, we saw an opportunity to harvest and salvage our own trees. With the purchase of a sawmill and a lumber drying kiln in 2010, we set our sights on the growing industry of live edge lumber, also know as slab wood. With hobbyists and professional woodworkers searching for something new to hone their skills, slab wood has fast become the go-to medium for the creative woodworker.

Our quest for sustainable harvesting dose not only provide you with unique slab wood, but also helps future generations enjoy this amazing natural resource. We all have a role to play to ensure we have healthy forests for all to enjoy, now and centuries to come.  It’s our goal to keep trees out of the chipper and landfill.
